Welcome

SMC-2424-D Dreamweaver

Adobe Dreamweaver is a sophisticated Web editor that reduces the need for writing HTML code by creating basic HTML functions and JavaScript with its drag-and-drop features. Students will begin by exploring how to use Web-safe colors for creating banners and buttons and how to properly save images for Web use in Adobe Photoshop. Text editing, image insertion and manipulation, using tables, layout tables, layers, library items and uploading will all be covered. During the second weekend, we will address new functions to make an easily manageable and sophisticated site, including how to slice images in Photoshop for use in tables and how to make simple animated GIFs. Using templates, cascading style sheets (CSS), JavaScript behaviors, timelines and uploading with Dreamweaver's extensive FTP function will be included.
Prerequisite: SMC-1031, Digital Design Basics, or equivalent.
Note: This course is taught on the Macintosh platform.
